Your Go Goodwins Manchester Storm are delighted to announce that we will be showing our #Pride this August, when we take on the Sheffield Steelers in the first of our pre-season games for the 2017/18 season.

The double-header against Storm’s arch rivals, the Sheffield Steelers, will take place at the Sheffield Arena on Saturday 26th August (F/O @ 7pm) before returning home the following day to host the Steelers at SilverBlades Ice Rink Altrincham #StormShelter on Sunday 27th August (F/O @ 5:30pm), on what is sure to be a large crowd for the start of the Ryan Finnerty coaching era!

Coach Finnerty is excited about the pre-season games against one of his old teams;

“It’s always exciting to play against one of your former employers, but the Steelers are also one of the top teams in the country, so it’ll be a really good early test for our team leading into the regular season the following week. I’m told the games between the Storm and Steelers have been very intense these past couple of years, and I expect that intensity to continue into the future”.

Storm GM, Neil Russell, further added;

“We’ve had some brilliant games against the Steelers the past two years, there’s always an edge to them. These games always attract excellent crowds for both teams, so I expect it to be another busy night to kick off the home pre-season schedule on Sunday Aug 27th. Also, we’re delighted as a club to show our support that weekend for #ManchesterPride, in what is always one of the busiest weekends of the year in Manchester! ”

The games, which are being held over the world famous Manchester Pride weekend, will see Storm taking to the ice in special LGBT jerseys, the designs of which will be revealed later in the off-season.
