PREVIEW: Storm host first EIHL game of the season against Fife Flyers

Manchester Storm vs Fife Flyers – Saturday 16th October @19:00 – Planet Ice Altrincham

This weekend, Storm have back-to-back games against Fife Flyers. Saturday 16th October marks Manchester Storm’s first home fixture of the 2021/22 season where league points are up for grabs. Expect a highly competitive game as visitors, Fife Flyers clash with Manchester Storm for the first time since February 2020!

The Visitors

Netminder Shane Owen returns between the pipes for Fife following a stint with Belfast Giants in 2019/20  and Coventry Blaze for the Elite Series. 

Fresh to the blueline for the Flyers squad this season include Rihards Grigors, who heads back to the EIHL from SHL side Murrayfield Racers, plus Erik Näslund, who joins from HockeyEttan in Sweden. Latvian defenceman, Imants Lescovs joins following a season in Poland. 

New forwards to the Flyers roster include American’s James Anderson, Jacob Benson and Michael McNicholas. Canadians, Greg Chase and Carson Stadyk join from ECHL and the SVHL. 

Craig Peacock swapped Clan for Flyers this Summer, while Bari McKenzie and James Isaacs return to the Flyers. Young Brit, Richard Krogh makes his Flyers debut, following his EIHL debut with Guildford Flames in 2017/18.
