Manchester Storm are delighted to announce the signing of forward Tyler Barrow, most recently of Peoria Rivermen (SPHL).

The 25-year-old New York native will be looking to continue an already stellar full rookie campaign when he arrives in Manchester, later this week. This season Barrow has racked up 11 goals and 19 assists in only 25 appearances for the Rivermen.

Prior to the professional game, the American forward represented Wilkes University (NCAA III) and enjoyed a fruitful four-year tenure in Pennsylvania. In his 88 outings, Barrow tallied 52 goals and 80 assists earning him four consecutive First-Team All Conference awards, plus the Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2019-20. Furthermore, Barrow formed an integral part of Charlotte Rush’s USPHL championship in 2016-17, amassing 120 points (36G 84A) in just 77 junior appearances.

The young American forward is eager to carve out a role for himself in the Storm line-up for the remainder of the campaign and will no doubt bring his high-energy style into the Shelter this weekend.

Head Coach Matt Ginn commented; “I’m excited to bring Tyler into our group. He provides us with depth up front and after doing lots of homework on him, I think he has all the tools to thrive at this level. He’s driven and he’s excited for the opportunity to prove himself and I am looking for him to come in and provide an impact on both sides of the puck.

I am excited that management has continued to support our group. We like our team and are committed to bringing in reinforcements to keep improving our team and putting a competitive, hard working product on the ice that the fans can get behind.”

With the news of Tyler Barrow signing, the club have made the difficult decision of releasing netminder Hayden Lavigne with immediate effect, this is to make room for our new addition to the forward pack. With the injury bug striking since the turn of the year, the club are making every effort to ensure the squad are not playing short-handed as we look to manoeuvre up the league standings and secure a 2023 playoff spot.

The club would like to thank Hayden for his efforts here in Manchester and wish him all the best for the future.

With forwards Jesper Ohrvall, Ryan Barrow and Jake Bricknell currently on the sidelines injured, the club are hoping to have Tyler Barrow in the lineup for this weekends key league clashes with Dundee Stars (Saturday @ home) and Sheffield Steelers (Sunday @ Sheffield)
Defenceman Dallas Ehrhardt is recovering well and the club are hopeful he will see action against Dundee Stars on Saturday evening.
