STORM FORECAST – Storm vs Flames

All eyes are on what’s to come this weekend as Manchester Storm get ready to joust with Guildford Flames not once, but twice in the search for Challenge Cup points.

Paul Dixon’s side will make the trip from Surrey for a Friday night clash in the first of the double header at The Storm Shelter (Face off 7:30pm).

Then both teams hit the road for Saturday’s rematch at The Spectrum to round up the weekend, one of whom could be the happier of the two,

Information on the first game on Friday to come, but if you wish to purchase the Flames TV webcast to watch on Saturday, you’ll find the link here.

COACH’S COMMENTS

Storm coach Cameron Critchlow wants to make life tough for Guildford Flames when the teams get together for this weekend’s double header.

Manchester go into the weekend on the back of two consecutive four-point weekends and face the Flames, keen to get that run going.

And Critchlow is enjoying the positive vibe around the Storm locker room as he and his team contemplate another testing weekend.

“The guys are feeling confident as they should be,” he said. “The energy is high and the group is a pleasure to be around. We need to continue this feeling moving forward.

“The biggest takeaways I got from the weekend is we have a resilient team.  Being down 3-0 (against Dundee) is not an easy hole to climb out of, but we managed to find a way.

“Guildford are next and have a very skilled and fast team.  We want to make it as difficult as possible for them over the weekend.”

PLAYER TO WATCH

Cole Ully (Guildford Flames) – In his third year in the Elite League, albeit with a third different club, Cole Ully’s prowess around the offensive zone is well known.

The 30-year-old has enjoyed a terrific start to the season, with 13 points (six points and seven assists) from his ten outings in both competitions so far.  Add to that, he’s on a streak of ten points in his last five games, it’s a man on form and someone Storm’s D-core will have to watch carefully.
