STORM FORECAST – Manchester Storm vs Coventry Blaze

Saturday night hockey is almost upon us as we prepare for the visit of Coventry Blaze, but not until the team have returned from their Friday night trip to Nottingham Panthers.

We’re here to tell you what you need to know about what you expect when you visit the Storm Shelter and there’s a lot to get through.

Before we do, tickets are available here to purchase and you can find the webcast here, if you’d rather stay in and watch.  Face off is at 7:00pm.

NEXT IN THE STORM SHELTER…

As we mentioned, it’s the Coventry Blaze who are visiting for this Elite League clash and a team who returned to winning ways with a 5-3 win over Guildford Flames in midweek.

Away from home, Kevin Moore’s side have lost three of their last four and have been beaten in their last three visits to the Storm Shelter.

It doesn’t take away from what will be a tough night of hockey against a very accomplished opponent so it could go either way.

It’s also Remembrance Night as we remember the fallen in combat around the world through the years so make sure you’ve arrived and in your seat as we pay tribute to the servicemen and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

TICKETS/WEBCAST

Tickets are still available for the clash so there’s still time to buy yours at the time of posting.

You can buy yours online at this website or alternatively they can also be purchased by calling 0161 926 8782 or in person at the Planet Ice Box Office.

For disability, carer or wheelchair seating, please contact the Planet Ice box office by email altrincham@planet-ice.co.uk or by telephone on 0161 926 8782.

If you can’t make it, not to worry.  You can cheer on the Storm wherever you are with our game night webcast, available to purchase on Manchester Storm TV as we take you through the action.

Tune in and be part of another big night of hockey in Manchester!

COACH’S COMMENTS

Storm coach Cameron Critchlow says he’s looking forward to seeing his players take the challenges of the two games this weekend.

It’s destination Nottingham for Friday’s game against the Panthers before returning home to face Coventry Blaze on Saturday.

And while the coach would love to register another four league points from the two games, he concedes there is work to do after the weekend just passed.

”Four points sounds great, but it’s easier said than done,” he said. “We have a tough test against a team in Nottingham where we will need to be better defensively and pay attention to details within our own game.

“As for Saturday, we know how we want to play at home, I look forward to seeing our guys face these challenges.

“Looking back, I liked our game at home against Fife and overall, it was a solid performance. I felt some some fatigue set in on Saturday so wasn’t thrilled with our performance through two periods.

“With that being said we found a way to push back in the third and just came up short, but it’s a new weekend and we’re looking ahead to what’s to come.”

PLAYER TO WATCH

Mat Robson (Coventry Blaze) – For Manchester to have any success, they have to break down the last line of defence in Blaze’s netminder, who has proven to be a tough customer.

One of Kevin Moore’s go-to guys, Robson has shown how to make the big saves and with Storm’s forward lines all showing good production, he will need to be on top form.

It could come down to a battle of wills between the Blaze goalie and Manchester’s offensive lines, which could be the key to where victory can be found.

PREVIOUS MEETING

Coventry visited the Storm Shelter back in September on Challenge Cup duty and it proved to be a very good night for Cameron Critchlow’s team in the coach’s first game behind the bench.
