48 HOURS IN MANCHESTER: MAKE A WEEKEND OF IT WITH MANCHESTER STORM

News & Media

Two home games. One weekend. One incredible city.

Manchester Storm are inviting fans to make more of our home double-header this weekend, with our very own Joe Nardi and Kyle Maksimovich taking fans along for a possible 48-hour Manchester journey and showing just how much there is to see, do, eat and experience around a Storm weekend.

Whether it’s your first visit or you’re a regular, two home games make this weekend the perfect excuse to come for the hockey and stay for the city.

Saturday: Arrive, explore and get game-ready

Getting to Manchester couldn't be easier. All roads lead to hockey! Find out how to find us here.

Joe and Kyle's journey begins at Todd St Café at Hotel Indigo, perfectly positioned right next to Victoria Station and just a stone's throw from our home, the AO Arena.

It's the ideal first stop after arriving in the city, whether you're looking for coffee, cake or somewhere to sit back and relax before heading out to explore.

Discover Manchester

And from there, the city is yours to explore.

Manchester is a city built to be explored on foot. From Victoria Station, much of the city centre is right on your doorstep, with the Northern Quarter, Printworks, shops, restaurants, bars and some of Manchester's most iconic sights all within easy reach.

And when your feet need a rest, our friends at Transport for Greater Manchester make getting around the city just as easy, with trams, buses and the free bus service helping you get from A to B without missing a beat.

You could head towards the Northern Quarter, one of the city's most recognisable neighbourhoods, known for its independent businesses, colourful street art, record shops, cafés, bars and restaurants.

Or perhaps it's time for some shopping.

Manchester's central retail district offers plenty of opportunities for some retail therapy, with the Arndale, Market Street and surrounding streets offering everything from high-street favourites to independent retailers.

For those looking to soak up some culture, Manchester's museums and galleries offer another way to spend the afternoon. From discovering the city's history and industrial heritage to exploring art, science, football and music, there are plenty of ways to experience the city.

And if you simply want to wander, areas such as Castlefield, Ancoats, Spinningfields and Chinatown each offer a different side of Manchester, with canals, historic buildings, independent businesses, restaurants and plenty of places to stop for a drink.

And, of course, a Manchester weekend needs Nell’s.

Joe and Kyle head to Nell's in the Northern Quarter for its famous 22" pizzas and amazing cocktail offerings, with Game Day Ticket Holders receiving 10% off and Season Ticket Holders 15% off.

From there, Printworks provides another opportunity to soak up the city's atmosphere, with food, drink and entertainment all under one roof before it's time to head to the arena.

Saturday night

Manchester Storm v Nottingham Panthers — 7:30pm

After a full day experiencing Manchester, it's time to head to the AO Arena for the first game of the weekend.
