ARRIVING AT THE ARENA

City Rooms Entrance

The City Rooms Entrance is the entrance for Storm games. It is located on the upper bridge level within Manchester Victoria Station.

From the main station concourse, head upstairs to the bridge level. Alternatively, use the lift to the right-hand side of the stairs. Follow the signs across the bridge link, where the doors lead directly to the City Rooms Entrance.

The maximum walking distance from the station concourse to the entrance is approximately 180 metres.

Please have your ticket ready when you arrive.

Arena stewards are stationed along the route to provide directions and assistance.

If you need help finding the entrance, speak to a steward. The entrance features an accessible lane and a dedicated accessibility door for guests who have difficulty queuing.

This entrance provides the closest access to both the accessible platforms and tiered seating.

The Hunts Bank entrance will also be in operation for Storm’s Sunday 6th September Homecoming game and is located on Hunts Bank, directly opposite Chetham's School of Music.

For reference, the dedicated taxi drop-off point and taxi rank are situated right outside the Hunts Bank entrance.

There is also step-free access to this entrance via a lift located to the right of the Hunts Bank steps.

MAKE SOME NOISE

Manchester Storm games are about more than what happens on the ice. We’re building an atmosphere worthy of Manchester, and every fan plays a part.

You’re our 7th on the ice!

Noisy Block - 112

Drums will be supplied for Block 112.

If you’re sitting in this area, expect things to get loud. Bring your voice, get behind the team and help create an atmosphere the players can feel.

No Instruments

Fans should not bring their own instruments into the arena.

Drums for the Noisy Block will be supplied as part of the gameday atmosphere.

ENJOYING THE GAME

Stay in Your Seat During Play

Once the puck drops, please remain in your seat where possible and avoid moving around the seating areas while play is underway.

If you need to visit the toilet, grab something from the concourse or leave your seat for any other reason, please wait for a whistle or other natural stoppage in play before moving.

This helps the people around you enjoy the action without having their view interrupted and means you won't miss the next big moment!

Keep It Family Friendly

Storm games are for everyone.

We want the AO Arena to be a welcoming, inclusive and family-friendly environment for all our fans.

Sing. Cheer. Celebrate. Make some noise.

But please be mindful of your language and behaviour.

Personal abuse, threatening behaviour, discrimination or offensive conduct towards players, officials, opposition supporters, Storm fans or arena staff will not be tolerated.

Passion is part of hockey. Abuse isn't.

We have a zero-tolerance approach to discriminatory or abusive behaviour.

If you see something that doesn't feel right, please speak to an AO Arena steward or member of the Customer Services team.

Respect the Game

Hockey is fast, physical and passionate. Decisions won't always go our way, and that's part of sport.

Get behind the Storm, make your voice heard and enjoy the rivalry — but please respect the players, officials, opposition fans and the people around you.

Everyone’s here for the same reason: to enjoy hockey.

NEW TO HOCKEY?

Ice Hockey is played over three periods, with breaks between each one.

The game can move quickly, so don't worry if you're still learning the rules — we’ve put together a Hockey 101 for anyone attending for the first time, or anyone needing a little refresh!

THE CHOCOLATE TRADITION — WITH A TWIST

We know how much Storm fans love the chocolate tradition. Unfortunately, due to health and safety restrictions, we are no longer able to continue throwing chocolate and sweets onto the ice for players.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE DO NOT THROW ANYTHING ON THE ICE

Throwing chocolate or other objects can create a health and safety risk and may result in you being removed from the game. But we’re not letting the tradition die… This season we’re working with a sponsor to keep that tradition alive — and reverse it.

At the end of every game, Storm players will distribute bags of sweets from the ice to fans. So stick around after the final buzzer. You could be one of the lucky fans to catch a bag.

Don’t throw it at the players… let the players throw it to you. It’s still going to be raining sweets in Manchester!

STORM MERCHANDISE

Want to show your pride? Storm merchandise will be available inside the arena thanks to our wonderful merch partner, National Merch.

Pick up your jersey and other official Manchester Storm gear before puck drop or during the period breaks and wear your colours with pride.

PHOTOGRAPHY & RECORDING

Personal photography may be subject to event-specific restrictions. Professional cameras, video cameras and unauthorised recording equipment are not permitted.

Please follow any instructions from arena staff regarding photography and recording.

Please, no flash photography.

NEED HELP?

If you need assistance during your visit, speak to an AO Arena steward or member of the Customer Services team. If something doesn’t feel right, report it to a member of staff. The arena has medical facilities and trained staff onsite, including AED provision for emergencies.
