Manchester Storm are thrilled to confirm the signing of Andreas Heier, most recently of Pioneers Voralberg. 

The Norwegian forward has been capped for his nation on 32 occasions, to date, over the course his impressive career. 

A junior player at Stjernen, Heier graduated into the professional game in 2010. After several stellar campaigns with Stjernen – the forward moved over the border to Sweden for the first time in 2016.

The winger made over 100 appearances in the highly-skilled Allsvenskan for MODO Hockey and IK Pantern from 2016-2019 before returning home. 

Ahead of the 2019-20 season, Heier was named as the club captain for his boyhood club – Stjernen. The added responsibility was evidently relished by the winger – who racked up 36 goals and 39 assists in 102 matches as the captain. During this period, Heier topped the individual scoring charts within the Norwegian top-tier in the 2020-21 campaign. 

Last season saw Heier split his time between Stjernen and Pionners Vorarlberg of Austria. The latter being a new franchise to the multi-national ICEHL, Vorarlberg largely struggled for results but Heier’s experience proved essential for stabilising the ship. 

Head Coach Matt Ginn had this to say about his final import signing: “I’m thrilled to add Andreas to our group and complete our roster. He is a very versatile player that we will look to contribute on both sides of the puck. Andreas’ experience across Europe and representing his country internationally will be very beneficial to our group. Signing Andreas completes our roster and I can’t wait to get started!”

Andreas commented on his move to Manchester: “I’m very excited to come to Manchester and get started. I’m looking forward to getting to know my new teammates, coaches, the staff and of course the fans. I’m very glad for this opportunity. And again I can’t wait to get there, get going and work for achieving our goals.”
