BREAKING | STORM LAND AMERICAN FORWARD AUSTIN ALBRECHT

Manchester Storm are excited to announce the signing of forward Austin Albrecht, most recently of Hochstadter EC (Germany3).

The American forward progressed through the North American Hockey League with Wichita Fall Wildcats into the US Hockey League (USHL) after producing 83 points (35G 48) in 110 NAHL appearances.

The step-up into the USHL saw Albrecht split his time between Sioux Falls Stampede and Muskegon Lumberjacks amassing 45 points (10G 35A) in 57 matches.

Albrecht would continue playing during his university studies representing UMass and American International College of the NCAA, whilst sitting out the 2018-19 season. His 2019-20 season with the American International College would prove fruitful, as the forward formed part of the regular season championship winning roster.

The forward would get a brief taste of professional hockey life with Wichita Thunder (ECHL) before heading over to Europe this current year. In 8 games with Hochstadter, Albrecht was produced 9 points (3G 6A), having been brought in on a try-out contract.
Head Coach, Ryan Finnerty, had this to say about his newest recruit;

“Austin is another young pro that we scouted in the same fashion as Frankie Melton. We like his offensive upside and his compete level. The last few seasons have been tough for young guys to find a home at the Pro level but that isn’t always an indication of what they can do here. Austin is a welcomed addition to our lineup before a tough weekend packed with three games in three nights
