BREAKING | FRANKIE MELTON RETURNS TO MANCHESTER!

Manchester Storm are delighted to announce the return of Frankie Melton, most recently of Adirondack Thunder (ECHL).

The American forward did manage to ice twice for Wichita in the 2020-21 ECHL season, which was heavily restricted by the pandemic. Before that, Melton made 16 appearances for the Storm and racked up 15 points (7G 8A), whilst winning over the Storm faithful.

The speedster will be returning to Manchester with a point to prove and a huge crowd on his side. A natural goal scorer with excellent vision had drawn offers from teams within the EIHL, across North America and Europe, but his kinship with coach Finnerty and admiration of the city proved too much for the young American.

Ryan Finnerty had this to say about the returning Melton:

We were really close to having Frankie for the start of this campaign but an opportunity and offer back home presented itself to him and he wanted to give it a go. The business of hockey works both ways and now we’re excited to have him back in a Storm jersey and I know the fans will be delighted to see him again.

Having the option to bring in somebody with so much talent that already knows our systems and how the league is, in terms of style and schedule, for me is a no-brainer.

I know how much the Storm fans loved watching this guy play and I wouldn’t be surprised if he produced even better numbers than he did during his first stop in Manchester.”

Welcome back to Manchester, Frankie!
