STORM FORECAST – Storm vs Cardiff Devils

We’ve been looking forward to this so much and now it’s almost here.  Hockey is back in the Storm Shelter and it’s going to be great to see you all again.

We’ll furnish you with all the info you need to know ahead of the game on Saturday and look forward to welcoming you back home.  It’s going to be great.

Before we do, tickets are available here to purchase and you can find the webcast here, if you’d rather stay in and watch.  Face off is at 7:00pm.

NEXT IN THE STORM SHELTER…

There’s never a dull moment whenever we come up against Cardiff Devils and we’re expecting nothing less when Paul Thompson brings his team on Saturday.

The Devils had an underwhelming trip to Scotland last weekend, taking only two points from a possible six, but did rack up a healthy 8-2 win over Fife to end the journey on a positive note.

It certainly won’t be a comfortable night for the team from Wales, especially considering Storm’s home form of five victories in six.  It will certainly be an entertaining and fascinating contest.

TICKETS/WEBCAST

Tickets are still available for the clash so there’s still time to buy yours at the time of posting.

Tune in and be part of another big night of hockey in Manchester!

DREW DERIDDER

Storm netminder Drew DeRidder is excited to be back home and spoke to us this week about the upcoming game against Cardiff, returning in front of the fans, reflecting on last weekend in Belfast, and the dynamic between him and his netminding colleague Evan Weninger.

Read all about it on the Storm website now

PLAYER TO WATCH

Mark Richardson (Cardiff Devils) – Cardiff’s long-serving captain has been a source of calm and composure in that Devils blue line for so long, you sometimes forget he’s there.

His experience is second to none and for this fixture – and if he plays, of course – Richardson will equal the all-time Elite League appearance record of 1,177, previously set by former Sheffield Steelers captain Jonathan Phillips.

Ever the professional, the Cardiff captain will be focussed on helping his team to victory.  Manchester would certainly love to play the party pooper on this occasion.

PREVIOUS MEETING

It was a closely fought contest when the teams last met here in September and although Storm were edged out on this occasion, they didn’t make it easy for the Devils.
