WEEK AHEAD | The return of the Steelers
We’re only just getting our breath back from the weekend that was as the season moves towards February at alarming pace.
With the fight for the play-offs still very much on, every point is at its premium and two more tests await Cameron Critchlow’s team as we get ready to change calendars again.
Check out what you can expect over the next seven days.
Saturday 31st January
Manchester Storm vs Sheffield Steelers (The Storm Shelter, Face off 7:00pm)
TICKETS
WEBCAST
Sheffield Steelers bookend January as they are back in the Storm Shelter, like they were on New Year’s Day and no doubt keen to not repeat the outcome of that game.
Storm’s shutout win was historic in some regards, but Saturday is another day and another meeting when the teams go head-to-head for crucial league points.
It would be great to sign off a good January with victory over Sheffield and with tickets flying out the door, even at this early stage, it’s not too late to get yours and be here for another big occasion. Less than 150 seated tickets remain so be quick if you want a seat!
DID YOU KNOW?
Manchester Storm shut Steelers out for the first time their Elite League history when they defeated Aaron Fox’s men 3-0 on New Year’s Day this year.
Sunday 1st February
Coventry Blaze vs Manchester Storm (The Skydome, Face off 5:30pm)
TICKETS
WEBCAST
Storm are off to the Skydome to begin February and out to emulate the two points they picked up in the same venue in a shootout when the teams last met in December.
Blaze have markedly improved in recent weeks and won five in a row for the first time this season after Sunday’s visit by Fife Flyers, where they won 7-2.
Manchester’s record there in recent times has been decent, with six wins from their last nine trips to the Skydome so could hopefully be another successful night. Kevin Moore and his team will have their say of course.
DID YOU KNOW?
In the previous five meetings between Coventry and Manchester, there have been 35 goals between them, averaging seven goals per game so far.
