WEEK AHEAD – The grand finale
We did it! For the first time in our Elite League history, Manchester Storm will take their place in the final four weekend, so we’re pleased to bring you one more of these to close out the season.
There may be not a lot of time to let those fingernails grow before we’re back in Nottingham after Sunday’s dramatic events, but we can look forward to being part of the biggest event in the EIHL calendar.
So let’s take a look at what lies in store for the Storm for the final time in 2025/26.
Saturday 18th April
Sheffield Steelers vs Manchester Storm (Motorpoint Arena, Face off 7:00pm)
WEBCAST
Storm’s first ever EIHL play-off semi-final sees them up against Sheffield Steelers for a place in Sunday’s final and will be the second game of the day.
Both clubs have enjoyed some ding-dong battles throughout the season, but in a one-off game, anything can happen. It’s all about (at least) 60 minutes and three periods.
If it’s anything like what we just experience on the same ice on Sunday, be ready for an emotional rollercoaster. Let’s do this!
Tickets are close to sell out at the Motorpoint Arena, but fans from other clubs, who haven’t qualified are selling theirs online so please careful if you decide to buy privately.
Alternatively, the semi-final will be available to watch on a webcast (link above) so tune in if you can’t make it to Nottingham.
DID YOU KNOW?
Saturday will be Storm’s first game in any play-off finals weekend since 2002 when both Steelers and Manchester met in the Super League final, with Sheffield edging the contest in a shootout.
Sunday 19th April
Third Place Play-off (Face off 1:00pm)
Final (Face off 5:00pm)
WEBCAST
Of course, we won’t know the make-up of Sunday’s fixtures until Saturday night’s conclusion and naturally, we’d love to be in the later game with the final trophy of the season on the line.
What we do know is our opponents will either be Cardiff Devils, last season’s beaten finalists or Glasgow Clan, who knocked out champions Belfast Giants to make their first finals in 12 years.
Regardless, we end our season on the final day, hoping to be in the main showpiece and we need all the help we can to do it.
The final, if we make it, will be shown live on Premier Sports, but both games are also available on the Elite League webcasts (link above)
Over to you, Storm fans and enjoy your weekend in Nottingham!
DID YOU KNOW?
The last team to enter the play-off weekend having finished sixth in the regular season standings then go on and win the competition was Coventry Blaze, when they won the 2015 crown, beating Sheffield Steelers in the final.
