WEEK AHEAD – A Classic in the making
If you thought last week was a busy one, get ready for much more hockey action as calendars change over as we prepare to see in the New Year.
It’s a bumper edition of the Week Ahead with FOUR (yes, you read that right!) games to look ahead to over the next seven days.
Let’s jump straight into it.
Tuesday 30th December
Sheffield Steelers vs Manchester Storm (Utilita Arena, Face off 7:30pm)
TICKETS
WEBCAST
We end the old year with a road trip to Yorkshire and a date with the Sheffield Steelers to wind up 2025 and it goes without saying, it’s a tricky one to negotiate.
Both teams enjoyed mixed weekends with a win and a loss to their respective names, so you just know they’ll both be out to give 2025 the perfect send off.
Steelers have a good home record so far but have come a cropper at the hands of one or two unlikely opponents along the way. This could be Manchester’s turn to do just that.
DID YOU KNOW?
In Manchester’s 50 previous away games that have taken place in December, Storm have 19 of them with the most road wins coming in 2018/19, winning four of them.

Thursday 1st January
Manchester Storm vs Sheffield Steelers (The Storm Shelter, Face off 5:30pm)
TICKETS
WEBCAST
It’s New Year’s Day and you know what that means? It’s our Winter Classic game as we bring in 2025 in true Storm fashion.
Steelers will be the opponents again in a game that promises so much in terms of drama and could be the ideal way to mark the changing of the calendars if there’s a home win involved.
Having played Aaron Fox’s men just a couple of days before, there could be hangovers and maybe a grudge or two to take into this one. Regardless, we can’t wait for this one.
PLEASE NOTE: We are also down to double figures in ticket availability so book now to avoid disappointment.
DID YOU KNOW?
This will be the eighth time Manchester will play on 1st January at home since joining the Elite League in 2015.

Saturday 3rd January
Manchester Storm vs Belfast Giants (The Storm Shelter, Face off 7:00pm)
TICKETS
WEBCAST
Once the festivities of the New Year are finished with, it’s on to the weekend and an early year visit from Belfast Giants in this Saturday night showdown.
The Giants might be a little behind in the title race at the time of writing, but coming to the Storm Shelter is a trip they may not fancy as they eye up the higher places.
Manchester have yet to face the Giants at home this season and on previous results and games, certainly have nothing to fear.
PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT the rescheduled game from the one originally due to take place on Friday 5th December so tickets should be purchased as normal. The rescheduled date is still yet to be announced.
DID YOU KNOW?
In the last five visits to the Storm Shelter by Belfast Giants, Manchester Storm have won three of them.

Sunday 4th January
Fife Flyers vs Manchester Storm (Fife Ice Arena, Face off 5:00pm)
TICKETS
WEBCAST
We finish off with a first trip of the season to Fife Ice Arena for a date with Fife Flyers, bringing an end to quite the week of action.
The Flyers may be bottom of the table, but going to Kirkcaldy is never a prospect to be relished as Jamie Russell’s men look to claw their way from the foot of the table.
A couple of high profile signings may help them along the way, but Manchester will be all about ending a marathon week with more Elite League points on the board.
DID YOU KNOW?
Manchester Storm have visited Fife Ice Arena on 27 previous occasions, with seven of those games settled by either overtime or a penalty shootouts.
