Update on Away Supporter Drums at Future Manchester Storm Home Games
Manchester Storm would like to share an update regarding the use of drums by away supporters at future home games.
Following feedback received over the course of the season, the club has taken the difficult decision to prohibit the use of drums by away supporters. This decision has not been taken lightly, and we recognise the important role that passionate support plays in creating atmosphere on game nights.
Throughout the season, we have received consistent feedback that drum noise was impacting the overall game night experience for some supporters. In particular, a number of viewers of our online webcast raised concerns about audio disruption caused by drums positioned near the commentary box, which affected viewing quality and made it challenging for our commentator.
In an effort to find a balanced solution, the club trialled relocating the away supporters’ section over the past couple of months to better accommodate both atmosphere and operational requirements. Unfortunately, similar concerns continued in the new location, from hospitality guests particularly, indicating that further steps were necessary to ensure a positive experience for everyone in attendance, as well as those watching from home.
Manchester Storm remains fully committed to fostering a passionate, inclusive and welcoming environment and continues to encourage vocal support from all fans. However, this must be balanced with the comfort and enjoyment of supporters, partners and staff throughout the Shelter.
We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of visiting supporters and thank all fans for their continued support.
