Your Go Goodwin Manchester Storm were invited to a special private VIP tour of the world-famous Old Trafford Football ground by Manchester United, which took place this morning, Wednesday 8th November 2017.

The invitation comes less than a week after Manchester United player & huge ice hockey fan, Victor Lindelöf, came down to the Storm Shelter last week, for a meet and great with the team.

The tour began with the guys visiting the museum, before being shown around the stands, the home and away changing rooms, the walk-out tunnel, and finally the pitch-side dugouts.

Storm’s backup netminder, Ashley Smith, had the following to say about the day;

“It was a lot of fun & everyone enjoyed it, I especially liked it, because seeing the United stadium and the dressing room is something I have always wanted to do”

“It’s good for teams to come together to support each other, they are totally different sports but it just shows how they can come together in a city like Manchester”.

Gemma Thompson, an official for Manchester United, explained how it was very important link-up for the two clubs. She went on to say;

“We wanted to welcome the guys to Old Trafford and show them round, following their hospitality last week in welcoming Victor to Planet Ice Altrincham.”

“It’s really great to have them here and they seemed to really enjoy it”.

Gemma and Simon Bailey, who worked together to set up the initial visit for Victor Lindelöf, are both very keen to see the link between the two teams grow and expand, with Gemma adding;

“The next thing I would like to and do, is get the Storm down to a United game at Old Trafford,  and we are then going to try and take Victor to a Storm match at some point in the new year”.
