THE GOLDEN BOY RETURNS

Manchester Storm are delighted to confirm the return of local defenceman Bradley Jenion after triggering the one-year extension clause in his initial contract with the club.

In his rookie EIHL campaign, Jenion developed into a valuable utility player for his boyhood club, with the coaching staff placing significant trust in his two-way abilities to help balance the game-day roster around import quotas. The Manchester-born skater split his ice time between defence and forward at various points throughout the season, but his physical presence and willingness to finish his checks remained a constant feature of his game, quickly endearing him to the Storm faithful.

In 42 league games, Jenion recorded three goals and two assists, along with 64 penalty minutes. His consistently improving performances over the course of the season were recognised across the league and earned him a well-deserved call-up to Team GB’s World Championship squad, where he will hope to make his full international debut at the tournament in Switzerland.

The local lad had this to say about returning to both AO and Manchester Storm:

“I’m ecstatic to be back in Manchester this year. Last year was such a great experience for me, being back home and seeing how much these fans care about the team. I loved coming to the rink everyday and playing for the coaching staff and the team they built.

Exciting things are happening in Manchester and I ,of course, had to be a part of it!

Boom boom boom, let me hear you say AO, AO”

Head Coach Cameron Critchlow spoke of his delight at securing the deal:

“I think anyone who watched us last year would have loved the energy Brad brings to the ice, and I can confirm this translates off the ice as well. He adds so much flexibility to our line-up, and that is vital over a long season.

It was great to see him called up to Team GB and, speaking from my own experience, I know playing at that level benefits your game. I’m excited to see him join the team in training camp with that experience under his belt.”
