Storm make statement as new season campaign begins

A City United, following the Storm..

This is the message ahead of the 2021/22 Elite League season.

A simple play on words on the surface, but underneath is a powerful message of unity after what has been a very tough period for not only the great City of Manchester, but the entire world. The Storm Shelter is where we will unite once again in September 2021, which will mark 18 months since the last Elite League fixture was played there.

As the hard work continues behind the scenes to prepare for our Elite League campaign, we made a statement yesterday which saw us announce that we are bringing top net-minder Matt Ginn back to Manchester, along with highly rated forward, Adam Brady and the return of fan favourite, Linden Springer.

Matt Ginn is no stranger to Storm fans, coming into his third season with the club, after taking a slight detour to the ECHL during the pandemic to play with Kansas City Chiefs, Matt said in a recent interview there is some “unfinished business” in Manchester after the 2019/20 season was cut short. We can’t wait to see Matt back in Storm colours during the 2021/22 Elite League season!

The second signing of the day is sure to be a player that will be admired by the fans here in Manchester, highly rated Canadian forward, Adam Brady, also making his way to the club from Kansas City Chiefs (ECHL) is all about speed, skill and scoring goals! Adam commented in a recent interview that amongst his forward thinking instincts, he also prides himself on his two-way game and won’t shy away from any defensive responsibilities. Welcome to Manchester, Adam!

The signings were concluded by what was a real surprise to the fan base as the club announced the return of fan favourite, Linden Springer! After two seasons in Manchester (17/18, 18/19) under Head Coach Ryan Finnerty, Linden decided on a change of scenery, signing with the Glashow Clan for the 2019/20 season in which he amassed 17 points in 47 games. During Lindens first two seasons with the club, he epitomized ‘Manchester’ in his game. A never give-up, never-say-die attitude and 110% in every shift, which the fans grew to love. After a spell away, we can’t wait to see Linden back ‘home’ here in Manchester.

The first three signings are in the books and we can’t wait to share more signing news with you, Manchester! Keep an eye on our official website and social media channels for the incoming 2021/22 Season Ticket news very shortly.
