Lépine scored the second goal of the evening for Panthers, putting a one-timer straight past Ginn, assisted by Talbot at 22:52.

Ginn was again there to make an amazing save, what could have been Perlini’s second goal of the evening; a backdoor opportunity on a pass from Malmquist. After some end to end hockey, Matheson scored Panthers’ third goal when he fired the puck through traffic at 34:38 unassisted.

Ginn helped shut the Panthers out for the remainder of the period, making some huge saves against the likes of Horvat and Talbot.

Overall, the second stanza was a little bit more evenly contested, with both sides getting 11 shots on goal each.

An unlucky poke check move from Ginn saw newly signed, Horvat score on the rebound from Lachowicz’ shot less than a minute into play.

Rheault was sent to the box for Hooking at 42:56, giving Storm a powerplay opportunity. It was Fawcett who claimed Storm’s first goal of the night, shooting over the blocker of Carr from the slot – assisted by Negrin and Ulmer at 44:22.

The final goal of the evening for Panthers came at 53:12, scored by Matheson, who got his second goal, assisted by Horvat.

Despite Simmonds’ attempt with smart play on a turnover moments later, Carr reminded undefeated against the visitors.
