Manchester Storm are thrilled to announce the addition of forward Mitchell Martan, most recently of Bemidji State (NCAA).

The quick-skating forward has spent five years honing his talents in North America’s top college league.

From 2018-22, Martan called Canisius College home in Buffalo, New York. Before transferring to Bemidiji in Minnesota for his final year. In 140 NCAA appearances, the forward produced 28 goals and 49 assists.

Prior to attending university, Martan was apart of an OJHL Championship winning squad. In 2017-18, whilst named alternate captain with Wellington Dukes – the forward had 26 goals and 41 assists in only 51 games.

The 2023-24 Elite League campaign will be Martan’s first in professional hockey and 25-year-old will be eager to make an impression.

Matt Ginn offered his thoughts on the speedy forward: “Mitchell is a very skilled forward that had great success at the college level. He’s a very smart player that makes plays under pressure at both ends of the ice. He doesn’t shy away from the dirty areas and has the ability to contribute on both sides of the puck. I’m excited we were able to add Mitchell to our group.”

On his move to Manchester, Martan commented: “I’m very excited to get started with the team. Manchester is a great city and I’ve heard nothing but good things about the organization. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone this September.”
