Your Go Goodwins Manchester Storm came away from their game against the Edinburgh Capitals with a thrilling 9-0 win, that sees them go 3 points clears at the top of the table, with a game in hand.

The first period started out well, with Dane Byers grabbing the Storm’s first goal with 1:18 gone in the period. The play went to end to end, with Storm having the better chances over the visiting Capitals, but struggled to get past Jordan McLaughlin in the Edinburgh net. Luke Moffatt grabbed the Storm’s 2nd of the night, assisted by Byers, with 14:39 to gone in the period. Rosehill grabbed the 3rd of the night, with 15:54 to go in the period.

The second period, saw only one goal, with Dane Byers grabbing his second of the evening, with 46 seconds gone, the remainder of the period saw the action flow end to end.

However, what the second period lacked in scoring, the third made up for, with Storm scoring 5 goals in the period. Dane Byers got his hattrick goal with 7:43 gone in the period, with Matt Beca following up with his first of the night with 58s later. 21s after this, Mike Hammond secured his first of the night to send the shelter wild. The play continued to flow end to end, and with 12:06 gone in the period, Matt Stanisz grabbed the Storm’s 8th of the night.

Backup netminder Ash Smith took over from Clemente in the Storm’s net with 7 minutes to go in the period, pulling off a couple of good saves to deny the Capitals a single goal, whilst Captain Jay Rosehill secured the Storm’s 9th and final goal of the evening, a power play goal, with 52 seconds left to play.

Storm now turn their attention to tomorrow, a trip to Planet Ice Milton Keynes, and a game against the MK Lighting, who came away from this evening with an overtime road loss against the Nottingham Panthers.
