Your Go Goodwins sponsored Manchester Storm take on the Dundee Stars in a Boxing Day clash at Planet Ice Altrincham that faces off at 5:30.

It’s the final league meeting of the season between the sides, and the Stars have proven to be a bogey team for the Storm in the previous three meetings. The first two matchups required a shootout to separate the sides, as 65 minutes of hockey was not enough. Storm eventually overcoming the Stars at the Storm Shelter, after the game ended 3-3 after the extra period. The Stars gained revenge in early-November, taking the second meeting 5-4 after the shootout. The Stars also came out on top a couple of weeks ago in Dundee, winning 5-3. Top point scoring for the Storm has been Matt Beca, who has 1 goal and 6 assists in the 3 games, Mike Hammond and Scott Pitt grabbing 3 goals apiece. Gabriel Levesque has been the top point getter for the Stars, scoring 2 goals and 4 assists in three games, while Travis Fullerton has put in three good performances in net, averaging a 90.5% save percentage.

The Stars come in to the game after a mixed weekend, taking a 4-2 derby victory over the Fife Flyers in front of a large home crowd on Friday night, before suffering a 8-1 loss away in Cardiff the following night. Goals from Riley Stadel, Gabriel Levesque, Malcolm Gould, and Jimmy Jensen secured both points for the Stars against the Flyers, while Travis Fullerton made 31 saves. Former Storm forward Adam Harding scored the solitary Stars goal on Saturday against the Devils, in a tough night in the Welsh capital. Storm secured a 4-point weekend with wins over Guildford and Nottingham. A Mike Hammond double, in addition to goals from Ciaran Long and Matt Beca were enough to overcome the Flames 4-1. The following night required a shootout to separate the Storm and the Panthers, where Matt Beca was the sole scorer, while Mike Clemente turned away all the Panthers penalty shots in a big performance for the Elite League’s play of the week.

One to watch: Gabriel Levesque is currently on a 4-game points streak, scoring 10 points during that period.
