THE WEEK AHEAD | Storm get ready to come home

Welcome to the new season and after the test in Coventry on Saturday night, it’s time to look forward to a full weekend of hockey and an emotional journey home.

We’re into the final week of our summer-long countdown as the prospect of being back in the AO Arena gets ever real.

Let’s take a look at what’s to come over the next few days.

Friday 4th September

Manchester Storm Season Launch Event

(AO Arena, 7:00pm)

A great and historic weekend is about to begin as we formally introduce you to the Manchester Storm team of 2026/27 in our new home.

Every player you’ve read about and maybe heard about on the podcast will be together to usher in the new season and they can’t wait to meet you.

The event is SOLD OUT as the curtain prepares to rise on a new season and this is just the beginning.  If you were lucky enough to get your hands on some tickets, we’ll see you there!

Saturday 5th September

Sheffield Steelers vs Manchester Storm

(Utilita Arena, 7:00pm)

A big pre-season double header weekend begins with a trip to the Utilita Arena for another test for Cameron Critchlow’s team.

Steelers are looking to bounce back after suffering two losses to Cardiff Devils at the weekend as they began their own preparations for the new campaign.

This one could be the sort of game where the coaches learn a lot about their teams and whether their systems are working before the real stuff starts next week.  Either way, it could make for a fascinating night in Yorkshire.

Sunday 6th September

Manchester Storm vs Sheffield Steelers

(AO Arena, 4:00pm)

We’re finally home. After 24 years, the dream of Manchester Storm playing out of the AO Arena again will finally be fulfilled and everyone is buzzing for this historic day.

Tickets are going quickly and at last check, it looks like it’s going to be record breaker with a bumper crowd set to make their way to our new home.

Steelers will be the opponents to complete the double header weekend in what’s sure to be an emotional occasion.

It’s all leading to this, but remember, you’re invited to be part of a huge night in Manchester Storm history so don’t leave it too late. We're very close to setting a new record attendance by any EIHL team but we need your help to do so!
