STORM SECURE SIGNING OF EXPERIENCED BRITISH FORWARD LEWIS HOOK FOR 26/27

Manchester Storm are thrilled to announce the signing of vastly experienced British forward Lewis Hook, most recently of the Guildford Flames.

The Peterborough-born winger spent several years developing through the ranks of his boyhood club, the Peterborough Phantoms, before breaking into the senior side during the 2012–13 season in the now-defunct English Premier Ice Hockey League (EPIHL).

A cross-league move to the Milton Keynes Lightning in 2014–15 proved to be the making of Hook, as he firmly established himself as one of British ice hockey's standout forwards. Across four seasons with the Lightning, he made 145 EPIHL appearances, amassing 157 points, before the franchise stepped up to the Elite Ice Hockey League in 2017–18.

With his reputation continuing to grow, Hook secured a move to the Belfast Giants the following season. Belfast would become home for the next four years, aside from a half-season spell in the AlpsHL with Kitzbüheler EC and a brief appearance in the EIHL Series with the Nottingham Panthers.

During his time in Northern Ireland, Hook enjoyed the most successful period of his career, helping the Giants to three EIHL league titles and three Challenge Cup victories, while also collecting a number of individual honours.

In the summer of 2023, the talented Brit swapped Belfast for Guildford, where he became a consistent top-six forward. Over two seasons with the Flames, Hook made 141 appearances and recorded 85 points (33 goals, 52 assists).

Now arriving in Manchester, the winger brings a wealth of experience, with 386 EIHL appearances and 204 points (81 goals, 123 assists) to his name. His signing further underlines the Storm's commitment to building a squad with proven Elite League experience.

Lewis is a guy I know very well from playing against him over the years. His quality is widely recognised, and I think this is a little bit of a coup for us because, last season, many of our British forwards were on the younger side. He's a proven winner, and that competitive mentality will have a real influence on the younger lads as they continue to develop their game. His presence in the line-up gives us so many options, and he has the ability to make an impact on special teams at both ends of the ice.
