CHALLENGE CUP
FINAL

Defenceman Brendon Clavelle says the team have to keep working on the positives if they are to start getting the results they need.
The Storm are due to head to Kirkcaldy for a Motorpoint Elite League meeting with Fife Flyers today - the only game of the weekend for the club.
And Clavelle reckons the start is important when they go head to head with a Flyers side who have exceeded early season expectations.
“The biggest thing is just continuing to improve and finding ways to be more consistent,” he said.
“It’s a long season, and there’s still a lot of hockey left to play. Obviously, we want to keep picking up points and putting ourselves in a good position in the standings.
“I think if we keep building on the positives and improving the little details of our game, the results will take care of themselves.
“Fife have obviously had a strong start to the season, so we know it’s going to be a good challenge.
“They’re playing with confidence, but I think we’re confident in what we can bring as well. For us, it’s about focusing on our own game, getting off to a strong start and competing hard every shift.
“If we do those things, I think we’ll put ourselves in a good position to be successful.”
Clavelle also reflected on the season so far, with some positive displays despite results not quite going the team’s way although they did solitary points from both games last weekend.
And the D-man highlighted some of the brighter attributes the team has shown, hoping it will lead to rewards.
He added: “I think we’ve shown some really positive things so far this season. We’ve had some good performances and shown a lot of character as a group, especially when facing adversity.
“I also think when we’re playing our style of hockey, we’re a tough team to play against. There’s always room to improve, and I think finding that consistency throughout a full 60 minutes is something we can continue working on.
"Consistency is huge, especially in a league as competitive as this one. It’s about continuing to build good habits and making sure we’re doing the little things right every night.
“Whether that’s winning battles, managing the puck or being responsible defensively, those details make a big difference. Hopefully, we can continue building momentum and putting together some good results.”
