Harrison hails coach Cam on play-off success

Manchester Storm captain Chase Harrison has paid tribute to head coach Cameron Critchlow and the rest of the coaching staff after the team secured a play-off berth last weekend.

Storm crossed the line into the post season despite only picking up a point from their two games last weekend. But Harrison was pleased as their good form all season has given them a chance to compete in the final competition of the campaign.

“I am extremely proud of this group for securing a play-off spot,” he said. “We fell short last year so we definitely had something to prove this season.

“I’m proud of every single guy for the buy in and work that the guys put in every day.

Critch is a big reason for that buy in. To have a guy like that leading us, it’s very easy to follow.

He has so much respect from everyone and guys will go through a brick wall for him and not only Critch, but Dallas (Ehrhardt) and Mikey (Morin) deserve so much credit too.

They give their heart and souls to this club, and we are all grateful to have them.”

This weekend sees Storm take on Dundee Stars in a double header, starting tonight in the club’s Retro Night, where the club will look back with affection on the 1997/98 season.

But after suffering two losses to Nottingham Panthers and Glasgow Clan last week, Chase knows they must reach the high standards again to get back to winning ways.

He added: “We need a big bounce back weekend. Dundee can play good hockey so we have to be at our best.

“This is a couple of games for our group and we need everyone going. It’s important for us to jump on them early and set the tone for the weekend.”
