Ergang ready for return to action
Storm forward Kaleb Ergang says Saturday’s game with Nottingham Panthers is not only a good test, but a chance to see if they have it in them to contend too.
Danny Stewart’s men are top of the standings coming into the weekend as they visit the Storm Shelter and keen to add to the five points they secured in their three-game trip to Scotland last week.
But Kaleb says the Storm players are very motivated and keen to return to action after last week’s enforced rest weekend, although appreciated the break.
“The unexpected weekend was great,” he said.
“Although we were all looking forward to playing the game Friday, we understood the circumstances and were able to get some extra rest before a busy month.
“Nottingham is a top team in this league and past champions so it’s certainly a good test for us to see where we are at in terms of where we ultimately want to be.
“As far as the learning aspect goes (from the game) we hope to learn we are also a serious contender in this league and can be threat until the very end.
“The guys are very motivated right now, especially going into this busy period. We have a good understanding of what this stretch can do for our group in the long run and we are ready and excited to get started.”
The game is getting closer towards a sell-out too, which has the making of a noisy Storm Shelter with fans in full voice.
And Ergang wants to team to show their full potential in front of a full house and give the supporters something to cheer about.
He added: “The energy we get from a packed Storm Shelter is really incredible.
“It can’t be understated how much it helps us out on the ice. Hearing the roars and cheers gives us an extra boost and we are always excited to give our best in front of our fans.”
