BREAKING | STORM MAKE STATEMENT, BRING GINN BACK TO MANCHESTER

Manchester Storm are thrilled to announce the return of netminder Matt Ginn, most recently of Kansas City Mavericks (ECHL).

The fan favourite and star netminder joined Greenville Swamp Rabbits (ECHL) for one game in early 2021, before heading over to Kansas City. In the truncated 2020-21 season, Ginn made 22 appearances for the Mavericks and maintained a 3.00 GAA and .905 SV% with a respectable 9-9-3 records.

Prior to that, Ginn spent two years in Manchester and made 108 appearances, during which he maintained an outstanding .917 SV%. This consistent play unsurprisingly quickly endeared Ginn with the Storm fanbase and his return will no doubt bring a huge amount of joy to the Shelters faithful.

Ryan Finnerty had this to say about the returning netminder:

“I don’t think it’s much of a secret that I believe Ginner is the number one goalie in this league and his last full campaign proved that.

The importance of the import netminder in the Elite League is unrivalled in leagues within Europe, as they are expected to start back-to-back games and usually make 50+ appearances.

We had to fight-off a lot of being competition within the league and on the continent to sign Ginner, but his love of the city and fans have allowed us to keep him for another season. I am delighted to be able to build a blueline group around him and his puck playing abilities allow us to play a mark expansive style on our small ice.”

Welcome back to Manchester, Matt!
