BREAKING | EXCITING FORWARD FRANKIE MELTON RETURNS TO MANCHESTER!

Manchester Storm are delighted to announce the return of Frankie Melton, most recently of Wichita Thunder (ECHL).

The American forward did manage to ice twice for Wichita in the 2020-21 ECHL season, which was heavily restricted by the pandemic. Before that, Melton made 16 appearances for the Storm and racked up 15 points (7G 8A), whilst winning over the Storm faithful.

The speedster will be returning to Manchester with a point to prove and a huge crowd on his side. A natural goal scorer with excellent vision had drawn offers from teams within the EIHL, but Manchester Storm won the battle for his talents.

Ryan Finnerty had this to say about the returning Melton:

We were really close to having Frankie for the Elite Series but couldn’t quite make the deal work, but I am super excited to have him back onboard for the 2021-22 campaign.

It is such a bonus being able to bring in somebody so talented that already knows our systems and how the league is, in terms of style and schedule. I am expecting big things from Frankie and he will be arriving in Manchester hungry to produce even better numbers than his first stint in the league.

Like I have said previously, this league is now about speed and Frankie brings that in abundance. I know how much the fans loved watching him play and I cannot wait to get to work with him on the ice again.”

Welcome back to Manchester, Frankie!
