Your Go Goodwins Manchester Storm are delighted to announce the return of fan favourite, #73 Matt Bissonnette, for the 2017/18 season.

The 25-year-old became an integral player for the Storm in the 2016/17 season, and after scoring 12 goals and putting up 31 assists last season in 43 regular season games, big things are expected yet again from the 6″4, 198lbs, Montreal native.

New Storm coach, Ryan Finnerty, couldn’t be happier to have re-signed Bissonnette for the upcoming season, commenting;

“I really liked his game when he played against the Clan last year. Matt is a smart hockey player, very creative, and is strong on the special teams too. I will be leaning on him this season for point production, a responsibility Matt will no doubt thrive on. I’m really looking forward to working with him next season, all the reports I have received on him have been very positive. The pieces to the jigsaw are falling into place nicely right now.”

Storm General Manager Neil Russell was also thrilled to secure Matt for another season, commenting;

“Bizz was a major asset to our team last season, a very popular team mate, and someone that was earmarked very early on as a player we wanted back here at the Storm Shelter. He came into the league as a bit of an unknown quantity, but he finished the year with everyone knowing exactly who he was and what he was all about. Matt bought into all things Storm away from the ice too, which is very important to me. I know there was interest from other EIHL clubs in securing his signature for next season, so for Bizz to choose to return to the Storm is simply great news. I look forward to welcoming him back to Manchester in person come August.”
