A Message From MD Ryan Finnerty: Team Expectations Moving Forwards

When our guys play with intensity and purpose we are very difficult to play against. When we are physical and direct, we tend to score goals from the hard areas and rarely get outworked. We are seeing way too much inconsistency in their individual game which makes it very difficult to have any sustained team success.

To play a game in front of our fans and not even throw a hit or get into a net front battle scares the hell out of me. How can we play 60 minutes without any purpose or passion? Losing should hurt and to be honest, piss you off as a player. We’re making it look easy right now and I know that’s not the character of the team or guys I see on a daily basis.

These guys need to decide as a group which type of team we are going to be moving forwards. I believe in this team and I know we have character and leadership but performances lately have not been anywhere near good enough and we owe our fans a response this week starting on Wednesday at home to Belfast Giants.

Manchester Storm MD, Ryan Finnerty.
