Manchester Storm Confirm Departure of Long-Serving Defenceman Zach Sullivan After Seven Seasons

Manchester Storm can confirm that #21 Zach Sullivan will not be returning for the 2026/27 season.

Having worn Storm colours for seven consecutive seasons, ‘Sully’ made 354 appearances for the club across all competitions, recording 9 goals and 30 assists for 39 points.

While his contributions on the ice were always highly valued, Sullivan’s impact on the organisation extended far beyond the scoresheet. A popular figure among teammates, staff and supporters alike, he became one of the most recognisable faces of the club during his time in Manchester.

Away from game nights, Sully played a significant role in the development of young players within the Storm Development Player Programme. Through his coaching, community appearances and willingness to give his time to supporters, he made a lasting impact both on and off the ice.

Throughout his seven seasons with the club, Sully embodied the values of Manchester Storm and leaves behind a legacy that reaches far beyond his playing career.

Sullivan added:

“It’s definitely a hard decision to leave the Storm after 7 amazing years with the club. I felt it was the right time for me personally, with the big move to the AO Arena and the plethora of talent coming through the academy, it feels time to let someone else take the reins.

I’ll always be thankful to Ryan for bringing me here 7 years ago, and whilst I’m sad to be leaving, I’m so grateful for my time here.”

We wish Sully every success in the future as he embarks on a new adventure. Once a Storm player, always a Storm player.
