Lightning Jack is Racing for a Great Cause and needs your help!
Our amazing mascot, Lightning Jack, is gearing up for an exciting challenge as he prepares to take part in Alder Hey’s Mascot Grand National on Friday 15th May 2026—and the anticipation is building!
This fun-filled and high-energy event isn’t just about speed, costumes, and competition—it’s about making a real and lasting difference. The Mascot Grand National supports the incredible work carried out at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, which provides world-class care to over 450,000 patients and their families every year. From life-saving treatments to vital support services, the hospital plays a crucial role in countless lives, and it’s a cause that truly matters. Lightning Jack is incredibly proud to be representing us in support of such an inspiring organisation.
On the big day, LJ will line up alongside a colourful cast of mascots from a wide range of sports clubs and organisations, all ready to dash down the track in a thrilling 200-metre race. While there will no doubt be plenty of laughs, cheers, and friendly rivalry, the true goal goes far beyond the finish line—raising as much money as possible to support the hospital’s essential work.
Training is already underway, and while sprinting in a mascot suit is no easy task, Lightning Jack is determined to give it his all. Whether he takes home the trophy or not, he’s racing with purpose—and every step will help raise awareness for the children and families who rely on Alder Hey’s care.
We’re calling on everyone to get behind Lightning Jack and show their support. Whether you choose to donate, share the fundraising page with friends and family, or simply cheer him on from the sidelines, every action makes a difference. No contribution is too small, and together we can help create a huge impact.
Let’s rally together, support LJ, and see just how much we can raise for this fantastic cause. With your help, Lightning Jack won’t just be racing—he’ll be making a difference where it matters most!
