Manchester Storm Secure Loren Ulett on Two-Year Deal to Extend Stay Until 2028
Manchester Storm are delighted to confirm the return of Loren Ulett on a new two-year deal, which will keep him at the club until at least 2028.
The hugely popular Canadian power forward will, under his new contract, extend his association with the franchise into its fifth year, much to the delight of all parties involved.
Ulett first joined the Storm in 2023 and has since made 147 league appearances, amassing 73 points and 192 penalty minutes. His all-round hockey ability is well recognised throughout the league, alongside his physical presence and professionalism both on and off the ice.
Ulett joins Gilmour, DeRidder and Jenion in returning to the club as they continue to strengthen the core squad ahead of the exciting transition to the AO Arena in September.
The returning forward had this to say about signing for a further two years:
“I’m extremely excited to return to the Manchester Storm.
Over the past three years, Manchester has become home, and I’m proud to continue building with this group.
Last season marked a historic step forward for the club, but we’re not satisfied!
It feels like unfinished business.
I’m honoured to be part of this next chapter as we push for more and step into the league’s top facility.“
Head Coach Cam Critchlow commented on being able to bring back another key member of the roster:
“Loren and I have known each other for a long time now. What you see is what you get with him. He sets the standard for work rate in our dressing room and leads from the front with his unselfish approach to the game.
Ryan and I have placed a real emphasis on bringing back key pieces of the puzzle as early as possible to underline our mutual commitment to those players. Loren is extremely dependable and understands the league exceptionally well, which is vital given the variety of venues we play in.
We have also made offers to several potential returning members of last season’s squad and have shown interest in a number of free agents at present. The move to the AO Arena has certainly turned some heads, and I truly believe Manchester is now a destination club within the Elite League, especially with our fantastic fanbase.”
