Critchlow still grafting for more
Manchester Storm head coach Cameron Critchlow says there’s still work to do despite clinching a play-off spot last week.
Storm stamped their ticket for the post season last weekend despite only picking up a consolatory point in their two games.
But Critchlow is continuing to look up as Manchester begin the last of their dozen remaining regular season games against Dundee Stars tonight.
“We still have a lot to play for,” he insists. “Clinching a play-off spot is great, however, we want to finish as high as we can and give ourselves the best opportunity moving into the post season.
It was a weekend where we did a lot of good things but periodically got away from our game. Overall, I’d like to see us compete for a full 60 minutes.
But the main positives looking back is statistically, we were in the driver’s seat to win, which tells me we need to be better in the details in the gritty areas.”
This weekend, it’s a double header against the Stars, with a trip to Tayside to complete the two games tomorrow.
It’s also Retro Night tonight in the Storm Shelter as the organisation gets ready to give a respectful nod to the team and players from the 1997-98 campaign.
Critch wants to put smiles on the faces in the stands but knows Dundee will provide a stern test going by previous meetings.
“Retro night is always fun,” he added. “Any themed night allows the fans and players to show some personality.
The fans have been incredible this year and we want to give them something to cheer about out.
Dundee will be a dangerous team that have taken us to overtime both games in our rink so far. It’s important we keep focus on what we need to do in order to have success.”
