WEEK AHEAD – Hockey and holidays

Here we are – the most wonderful time of the year we’re told and with what’s coming up in the next seven days, it’s hard to argue with…

It’s a bumper week with three games to come, two in the Shelter and a partridge in a pear tree. Okay, maybe not the last one.

But enough now! On to business and the week ahead for Manchester Storm.

Tuesday 23rd December

Manchester Storm vs Dundee Stars (The Storm Shelter, Face off 7:30pm)

Sunday has just finished and we’re already anticipating the next game – the second of three consecutively at home where Dundee Stars will make the journey down.

It hasn’t been going too well for Marc LeFebvre’s team of late so they will be keen to get points on the board and start to turn things around in this game.

Stars went down in overtime when they were last here in October after surrendering a three-goal lead.  Storm will certainly not want to give Dundee that much of a head start this time around.

DON’T FORGET…

The Storm Shelter is going full festive mode for our Christmas Eve Eve showdown against the Dundee Stars – and we need YOU to bring the Christmas spirit. Throw on your brightest, boldest, most outrageous Christmas jumper and join us for a night where hockey collides with festive chaos and cheer.

If it sparkles, lights up, sings or looks like Santa rejected it… we want to see it. 🌟

In Dundee’s previous 29 visits to the Storm Shelter, Manchester never scored less than two goals and that minimum amount has only happened twice.

Presents are opened, turkey and other traditional food is finished so it’s all about getting back to the Storm Shelter and spending Boxing Day with us.

It’s the first of a double header against Guildford Flames and you can expect plenty of action, drama and two competitive teams going all the way to make sure your Christmas will be a little happier.

Guildford certainly know how to make life difficult for any team – look what they did on Sunday against Nottingham Panthers – so let’s get ready for another fine night of Elite League hockey.

DID YOU KNOW?

This is the seventh time Manchester Storm have played on Boxing Day, all of which at home.  Their record is five wins from six, including back-to-back-to-back wins over Guildford in the last three years.

Saturday 27th December

Guildford Flames vs Manchester Storm (The Spectrum, Face off 6:00pm)

TICKETS

WEBCAST

A busy week ends with a trip to Surrey and the second part of the double header against Guildford Flames to finish things off.

Where we stand going into this one is anyone’s guess, but it won’t take away from what will be a tough league clash between the teams.

The Spectrum is a notoriously difficult venue for any team to visit so going here will present a challenge for coach Cameron Critchlow before what will be another big seven days next week.

DID YOU KNOW?

In the last three years, when both Storm and Flames have played each other in a festive double header, the home team have won in five out of six games.
