Weninger Back Between the Pipes as Storm Confirm Return for 25/26
Manchester Storm are delighted to confirm the return of import netminder Evan Weninger for the 2025–26 EIHL campaign.
The All-Star shot-stopper enjoyed a phenomenal debut season in the EIHL and has since established himself as a cornerstone of the Storm’s roster.
Weninger holds the franchise records for both save percentage and goals-against average (GAA), posting an outstanding .929 save percentage and 2.54 GAA across 47 league starts during the 2023–24 season.
An injury-disrupted campaign, coupled with a mid-season shift in the team’s playing style, contributed to a slight dip in Weninger’s sophomore season, during which the Canadian registered a .891 save percentage but turned in some impressive performances towards the latter stages of the season.
Head Coach Cam Critchlow shared his thoughts on Weninger’s return:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to have Evan back for another season. He’s a proven competitor and one of the top goaltenders in the league. His work ethic, leadership, and ability to deliver in big moments are exactly what we need as we continue to build. I know he’s motivated to come back stronger than ever, and we have full confidence in him to be a difference-maker once again.”
