STORM COMPLETE ROSTER WITH SWEDISH FORWARD JESPER OHRVALL

Manchester Storm are delighted to announce the signing of forward Jesper Ohrvall, most recently of Amiens (Ligue Magnus).

The talented Swedish skater represented Vaxjo Laker, Almtuna and HV71 at a junior level – before heading over to North America in 2014.

An impressive debut in the NAHL with Fairbanks Ice Dogs saw Ohrvall tally 37 points (24G 13A) in 26 matches, before stepping up into NCAA hockey. This four-year period, with over 100 games, evidently prepared the forward for the professional game.

For the 2019-20 season, Ohrvall signed with Gruner in Norway and was assigned the ‘A’ in his rookie professional season. A solid return of 13 goals and 19 assists in 42 games before moving to Manglerud in the season division.

In 30 games for Manglerud, Ohrvall posted 25 points (9G 16A) before moving midseason to French outfit Amiens. The Swedish import forward made an immediate impact in the division producing 11 points (6G 5A) in just 9 league matches. As a result, Ohrvall will be heading into the Elite League with consecutive impressive seasons under his belt and the opportunity to further establish himself within European hockey.

Head Coach, Matt Ginn, had this to say about the Swedish forward:

Jesper is an exceptionally fast and skilled forward. He has played plenty of hockey in North America and understands the needs to get into the hard areas. His style is not that of typical Scandinavian, as he takes the body and plays with tenacity.

I am expecting him to come into Manchester and hit the ground running for us. I want him to play the big important minutes for this franchise and he is an incredibly important piece within our roster. We had a huge battle on our hands for his signature – within the Elite League – but the fanbase and city here in Manchester always works to our advantage.”
